About the facility
Formed in 1998, Barwon Health is one of the largest and most comprehensive regional health services in Australia, providing care at all stages of life and circumstance. Barwon Medical Imaging provides a comprehensive range of diagnostic services including X-Ray (DR), OPG, CT (64 and 256 slice systems), MRI (1.5 and 3T), Ultrasound, Fluoroscopy, Angiography, Mammography, and Nuclear Medicine (PET and SPECT). These are performed by a team of highly skilled radiologists, radiographers, sonographers, nuclear medicine technologists, nurses and support staff who ensure that all patients have access to quality services. The MRI equipment is state of the art and includes both 1.5 and 3T Siemens MRI systems.
About the role
In your role as Radiographer/Medical Imaging Technologist (MIT) you will participate in the radiographer general rotation roster which includes after hours services covering X-Ray and CT.
Your duties will include but are not limited to;
- Deliver advanced practice services to individuals in accordance with defined clinical practice guidelines, recognised best practice standards and relevant codes of conduct
- Independently operate all diagnostic imaging equipment including information systems (RIS/PACS/CR/DR, BOSS and Symphony)
To be successful in this role you will have accreditation with AHPRA, and Radiation Use Licence (Vic).

Selection Criteria
|
Essential: Victorian Government, Department of Health, Radiation ‘Use Licence’. Essential: Tertiary qualification recognised by the Australian Institute of Radiography (AIR) – e.g. Bachelor of Applied Science in Medical Radiations (RMIT) Desirable: Demonstrate a broad range of knowledge, experience and competency in all routine medical imaging examinations Desirable: Competency in the operation of a digital radiography (DR), 64 slice CT, and digital fluoroscopy systems
