About the facility

The ultrasound department currently has three sites; The Mckellar Centre, Barwon Health North  which opened in January 2020 and University Hospital with expansion planning to have rooms within the Women's and Children's Hospital in the coming years.  Medical imaging has recently upgraded their facilities with a new state of the art purpose build ultrasound department.

The sonographer team includes a well-established education program lead by Tutor Sonographer and Clinical educator. The ultrasound service is 24/7 with an on call services and weekend shifts. Our equipment consists of an all Philips line up from within department, in emergency hub and in hip clinic.

About the role

As the Grade 3 Sonographer you will be recognised under award as a competent practitioner having completed and appropriate qualification in ultrasound.

As the Grade 3 Sonographer you will be required to support the provision of an ultrasound service 24/7, you will be competent across most areas in ultrasound and can complete normal examinations within designated time frames.  Additionally you will adjust and adapt examinations based on clinical criteria or patient condition.
