About the facility

Barwon health is the major regional health provider for the Barwon South West region. It is Victoria’s largest regional health service with one of the busiest hospitals in the state, University Hospital. We provide care at all stages or life and circumstance through a wide range of services from emergency and acute to mental health, primary care, community services, aged care, and subacute/rehabilitation.

About the role

The successful applicant will work primarily in Belmont, delivering evidence based podiatry service as part of an interdisciplinary team. It is important you have: 

  • Excellent communication skills allowing successful client-centred care planning and ability to work as part of a wider team to support clients to achieve their goals.
  • Broad experiences in community based care
  • Have a contemporary approach to podiatry practice 
  • Committed to interdisciplinary team work.

A part time podiatrist is required to contribute to and be part of the community-based multidisciplinary community health team to support consumers and carers to achieve an optimum level of health independence through:

  • Comprehensive, co-ordinated and integrated multidisciplinary services,
  • Provision of consumer–centred care to community members from a broad range of backgrounds.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of high quality, cost effective community-based podiatry services.
  • Contribute to meeting the program and community health team key performance indicators (KPI’s).

All activities of the position will reflect current best practice standards for podiatry. The position will operate according to relevant legislation, Barwon Health policies, and program and department guidelines.
