About the Facility

The Andrew Love Cancer Centre (ALCC) is a comprehensive cancer centre that has provided expert care to those affected by cancer in Geelong and southwest Victoria in a supportive and caring environment since 1992.  

Our service gives adults living in the Barwon South West region access to world class cancer treatment.  Based in Geelong, we have state-of-the-art facilities, equipment and highly skilled health professionals who provide personalised treatment and care. Chemotherapy, haematology and radiotherapy services are provided at the Andrew Love Cancer Centre and inpatient services are provided in Baxter Wing 6 at University Hospital Geelong. Some outreach clinics are available to people living in rural areas.

About the role 

The McGrath Foundation’s mission is to ensure every Australian family experiencing breast cancer has access to a breast care nurse no matter where they live or their financial situation. This position plays a vital role in the ongoing health management of breast cancer patients by acting as a patient advocate and by coordinating care for women affected by breast cancer, their families and carers

Selection Criteria Essential: Can you please list Barwon Health's values?
Essential: Can you please choose one of Barwon Health's values and describe a situation in the workplace where you have displayed this value?
Essential: Registered Nurse with at least five years post registration experience in either surgical or medical oncology, ideally with at least three years' experience as a breast care nurse, or related discipline.
Essential: Relevant post graduate qualifications in breast care nursing or cancer nursing (minimum first unit of the post graduate certificate, with willingness if deemed necessary to complete the post graduate certificate in breast care nursing).
Essential: Relevant experience in the management of patients with breast cancer (and/or oncology nursing experience).
Desirable: Experience in the development and delivery of education programs to clients, carers, the community and health professionals
Essential: I agree, to commence employment, I am required to meet Barwon Health’s immunisation requirements (including full Covid-19 and Influenza vaccination) set out in the Staff Immunisation Policy. I acknowledge that meeting this requirement is mandatory and a condition of employment subsequently offered.
