About the facility
The Geelong Cardiology Research Unit at Barwon health has been involved in the conduct of clinical trials since June 2000 and is recognised both nationally and internationally for conducting high quality clinical research. Under the direction of Associate Professor John Amerena (Director of Cardiology Research), the unit participates in global Phase II – IV clinical trials in cardiovascular disease, as well as trials/quality projects conducted at the local level.
Making up the research unit are a dedicated team of health care professionals including a number of highly experienced clinical trial registered nurses, a cardiology research registrar and a number of experienced Cardiologists who perform the role of sub-investigators.

Be responsible for the coordination and conduct of clinical trials and assist in research related administrative tasks in the Geelong Cardiology Research Unit.
