About Maternity Services at University Hospital Geelong

Barwon Health provides pregnancy, intrapartum and postnatal care for both high and low risk pregnancies. The number of births per annum is around 2600. Antenatal care is provided in both hospital and community sites. We have a Maternity Assessment Unit adjacent to the Birth Unit. A Fetal Medicine Unit providing individualised care to women requiring specialist care, The Birth Unit has 8 birth rooms and the Maternity Ward has 24 beds, an Extended Postnatal Care service and a Lactation Service. About the role

In this role you will work in a multi-disciplinary team to plan, implement, evaluate and maintain a high standard of maternity care for pregnant women and their families where there is a concern for the health of the unborn baby. The Fetal Medicine Unit provides care for women with complex or high risk pregnancies and require specialised care. At the same time recognising the needs and acknowledging the dignity, culture and values of all patients and their families. You will provide direct patient care through a consumer centred approach and within scope of practice.

To be successful in this role you must have previous experience in a Fetal Medicine Unit or Maternal Assessment Unit and be able to work across the scope of midwifery practice.

Essential: Previous experience in a Maternal Assessment Unit or a Fetal Medicine Unit.
Essential: Ability to work independently and within a multi disciplinary team
Essential: Recent successful completion of RANZCOG FSEP ith no less that level 3.
Essential: Ability to work across scope of Midwifery practice.
Essential: Degree/diploma level qualification with a recognised educational institution in Midwifery
Essential: Registration with AHPRA
Essential: I agree to meet Barwon Health’s immunisation requirements (including full COVID vaccination) as set out in Barwon Health’s Staff Immunisation Policy as amended from time to time.
