About the facility
Barwon Medical Imaging (BMI) provides a comprehensive range of diagnostic services including X-Ray, OPG, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Fluoroscopy, Angiography, Mammography, and Nuclear Medicine. These are performed by a team of highly skilled radiologists, radiographers, sonographers, nuclear medicine technologists, nurses and support staff who ensure that all patients have access to quality services.
Barwon Medical Imaging provides services at the following locations:
- The Geelong Hospital, Bellerine Street, Geelong
- Geelong Private Hospital, Corner of Bellerine & Ryrie Streets, Geelong
- The McKellar Centre, 45-95 Ballarat Road, North Geelong
- Torquay Community Health Centre, 100 Surfcoast Highway, Torquay
- Barwon Health North, 155 Princes Highway Norlane
About the role
The Grade 1 Radiographer/Medical Imaging Technologist will assist in the provision of a service in diagnostic medical imaging 24/7.
Duties of the Radiographer include but are not limited to:
- Independently operate all diagnostic imaging equipment including information systems (RIS/PACS/CR/DR, BOSS and Symphony)
- Participate in 24/7 ‘ABC roster’ which includes being available for reasonable overtime and out of hours recall and shift duty.
- Communicate health information data to other clinical staff within constraints of the privacy act and maintain accurate health information records as required by the Public Records Office of Victoria
- Assist with on-going practical supervision and tuition of students and interns in liaison with the Tutor Radiographer
