About the facility 

Barwon health is the major regional health provider for the Barwon South West region. It is Victoria’s largest regional health service with one of the busiest hospitals in the state, University Hospital. We serve over 500,000 people through the efforts of over 7,000 staff and more than 1000 volunteers. We provide care at all stages or life and circumstance through a wide range of services from emergency and acute to mental health, primary care, community services, aged care, and subacute/rehabilitation. About the role 

Barwon Health now has an exciting leadership opportunity within acute services. This vacancy is for the role of Nurse Unit Manager for our Renal, Gastroenterology and General Medical Ward which reports to the Co-Director of Medicine, Specialist Medicine & Emergency Medicine.  The ward also incorporates a medical day stay unit.

The primary objective of this role is to provide leadership, planning and delivery of a high quality service whilst developing and maintaining a professional and collaborative partnership in the overall management of Barwon Health.

You must be a registered nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency.  Health related post graduate qualifications will be highly regarded.  You must have a significant level of nursing skill, staff management and a proven commitment to flexibility and innovation in practice.  You will have a demonstrated ongoing commitment to professional development, have sound communication, time management and problem solving skills.
