About the facility 

The Barwon Health Pharmacy Department provides an extensive range of pharmacy services to the University Hospital Geelong, McKellar Centre, Community Health Centres and small hospitals in the region. Barwon Health is the first hospital in Australia to adopt ROWA robot technology for our inventory control. In keeping with Barwon Health's commitment as a leading tertiary teaching hospital, the service has an active involvement with education for student and intern pharmacists as well as medical, nursing and other health professionals. 

About the role 

A temporary part-time position is available in Pharmacy for a ward trained pharmacy technician to provide clinical support. Previous experience is essential in order to step into this role. 

This position requires you to work 2 full days per week 8.00am – 4.30pm. You will have current knowledge of the PBS, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Selection Criteria Essential: Previous hospital pharmacy ward technician experience and current knowledge of PBS
Essential: Excellent communication and organisational skills
Essential: Completion of Certificate III in Health Services Assistance with subsequent promotion to Pharmacy Technician Grade 3 following completion of Certificate IV in Health Services Assistance
Essential: High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Desirable: Strong general computer skills
Desirable: Strong analytical and problem solving skills
