Barwon Health is the largest health service in regional Victoria and based in Geelong. It is within commuting range from the west side of Melbourne. 

With more than 8000 staff and a broad range of services, Barwon Health plays a key role in the health and wellbeing of our local community and the wider Barwon South Western Region.

We offer comprehensive care with services ranging from birth through to the end-of-life, including critical care areas such as emergency, intensive care, CCU and CTU.

We are recruiting International Nurses that will consider working in the following areas;

 Permanent Pool staff

Working as part of the Permanent Pool is a great way for International Nurses to gain experience across a range of specialty areas. You will be able to choose to work in one or more of the following areas:

1. Acute Pool- based at University Hospital Geelong, includes acute medical and surgical wards, specialty areas (ED, ICU, Operating services, Cardiac Services) and Women’s and Children’s Services (including Birth Suite, Special care Nursery, Post-natal ward)
2. Sub Acute Pool- based at McKelllar Centre at North Geelong, includes Inpatient Rehabilitation including Neuro and Stroke Rehabilitation,  Ortho and Trauma Rehabillitian, GEM and Palliative Care.
3. Aged Care- based at both Grace McKellar at North Geelong and Alan David Lodge at Grovedale. Our Aged care facilities deliver High Level Care, assisted living and also secure units for patients with

 Intensive Care Unit 

Seeking ICU candidates with sound clinical knowledge and experience in acute nursing and a Critical Care Qualification will be highly regarded.

Inpatient Rehabilitation Centre (IRC)

Seeking candidates who have experience in;

• Neurological and stroke rehabilitation as well as Palliative Care
• Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM
• Rehabilitation to multi trauma, ABI, spinal injuries and amputee patients.

Acute General and Specialist Medicine

Seeking candidates who have experience in acute general and specialist medicine in the following:   General Medical, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Renal, Acute Neuroscience, Respiratory, Rapid Assessment Planning Unit, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Haematology, Cardiac, Cardiothoracic

 Surgical Specialties: 

Seeking candidates who have experience  in acute specialist and general surgical area including the following; General Surgery, Urology, Colorectal,  Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT),Plastics, Vascular, Oral/Maxillofacial, Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Ophthalmology
