Position Summary
  • We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Speech Pathologist with excellent interpersonal skills for the HBRP at Barwon Health.
  • Work with an innovative inter-disciplinary team in a forward thinking program
  • Permanent part time role 3 days a week commencing 11th November 2019

About the program   

Barwon health’s HBRP is a team of 15 allied health staff (Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Social Workers, Allied Health Assistant and Admin Assistant and Co-ordinator). The team provide rehabilitation to clients in their homes after an injury or illness. The program services an interesting and varied caseload including:

  • Post-acute episodes e.g. Stroke, ABI, orthopaedic surgery
  • Exacerbation of neurological disease, e.g. MS
  • Deconditioned following general surgery/prolonged hospital stay
  • Degenerative neurological disease e.g. MND, Parkinson’s
  • COPD
  • Palliative clients
  • Slow stream rehab clients 

About the role 

In this role you will work with clients to resume their communication, community and leisure activities by practicing in 'real life' environments. Your role will involve collaborative goal setting with clients, assessment and management of clients who require Speech Pathology input across the Greater Geelong, Bellarine, Golden Plains and Surf Coast regions. You will have broad experiences in and home and community rehabilitation, and a commitment to interdisciplinary team work. This is an excellent opportunity in a flexible work environment within a dynamic team. The team is based at two sites at the McKellar Centre and at Sydney Parade in Geelong CBD.
