About the facility
Barwon Health Clinical Education and Training team is interdisciplinary and committed to innovative and evidence based clinical education and training for all staff. We offer a Graduate Nurse Transition to Practice Program offering 12 month positions to in excess of 70 newly graduated registered nurses. We were awarded the Victorian Clinical Training Award in 2014 recognising a Victorian health organisation delivery of superior education, training and/or workforce development through high-quality clinical learning environments.
About the role
As the Clinical Support Nurse you will support the Graduate Nurse’s in a clinical learning environment in a practical and applied way to ensure nursing care is delivered and maintained at the highest standard. As well as providing support and mentoring in their transition from student to qualified Registered Nurses; your role will be a member of the Nursing Education Team and is primarily clinically based. Other responsibilities that you will undertake include working in collaboration with the Graduate Nurse Coordinator planning and participating in study days and educations sessions.
To be successful in this role you will need to have well established acute clinical skills.
