About the facility 

As a tertiary diabetes centre DRC specialises in the management of new and established T1 diabetes, complex T2 diabetes, diabetes in pregnancy, CGM, CSII, Fitness to Drive assessment and acute foot issues. DRC also provides Outreach Community Diabetes Clinics at Newcomb and Anglesea, run by the CHC Diabetes Educator in conjunction with the Endocrinologist and Advanced Trainee.

Teaching and placement is provided for medical, nursing and allied health professionals.

About the role 

Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, the Diabetes Educator is responsible for the provision of individualised education and care to adult inpatients and outpatients clinic with the aim of supporting people with diabetes to meet their goals of diabetes self-management.

You will have up to date clinical knowledge with a commitment to ongoing professional development across all relevant clinical skills, sound communication skills and attention to detail to provide high quality and safe care.
