About the role

We have an opportunity for a visionary, passionate and experienced Occupational Therapist in education and clinical supervision to contribute in our Occupational Therapy student education program at Barwon Health. The position is shared with another staff member who works 2 x 8 hour, days per week. The successful applicant will have specific portfolios such as:

  • Coordinate and conduct facilitated practicums, orientation sessions
  • Facilitate Reflective Practice sessions
  • Coordinate shorter clinical placement blocks (Buddy model)
  • Specialised Clinics & Programs Placement
  • AHA Placement Program
  • Innovation & Evaluation Project Placement
  • Latrobe 4th year’s placement

Other duties include supporting students and supervisors, liaising with the universities, negotiating placement changes with supervisors, attending student education meetings, lead student education inter professional education sessions and supervisor education sessions.

Opportunity for flexible working hours e.g. 2 x 8 hour day or 3 X 5 hour days per week would also be considered. Monday is required to be a work day due to the orientation sessions for new students.

Experience in staff and student supervision is essential for this role. This role requires you to possess excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal aptitudes. Additionally, knowledge and experience in the delivery of academic and/or clinical education programs is essential.

Essential: Meets classification definitions under appropriate Award/Agreement regarding clinical and leadership experience.

Desirable: Current membership with the OT Australian and other professional bodies within field of practice
Desirable: Postgraduate qualifications in Occupational Therapy clinical speciality (student education)
