About the facility 

Barwon Health Social Workers provide services to inpatient (University Hospital Geelong and McKellar Centre), outpatient and community programs.  Social work services provide assistance to patients and their families with respect to the wide range of personal concerns and practical needs which may arise during treatment. Social work services are available to current Barwon Health patients and their families/carers.

About the role 

This role will provide high quality social work services as part of the acute interdisciplinary team. The successful applicant will be required to:

  • Undertake psychosocial assessments involving the patient, family, interdisciplinary team and engaged agencies.
  • Work alongside the interdisciplinary team, providing consultation where required.
  • Provide clinical intervention, ensuring that the needs of the patient and family are attended too.
  • Refer to internal and external services and supports.
