About the facility 

The University Hospital Geelong is a 400-bed Deakin University affiliated teaching Hospital in a beautiful bay city setting with access to a renowned surf coast with excellent lifestyle and sporting facilities. There are many local cultural activities and only 55 minutes from the extensive facilities of Melbourne, the State capital.

About the role 

As an effective member in a busy team environment, the Administrative Assistant will be responsible for the high level, confidential, secretarial and administrative support to the Cardiothoracic Surgery Unit at Barwon Health. Excellent computer skills, the ability to organise and adapt to changing demands, exceptional communication skills are essential requirements if you wish to excel in this role. Previous experience in a clinical setting is desirable. 

Salary (full time rate): 64'000+

Essential: Tertiary training at certificate or higher in Secretarial and/or Business Studies or significant experience in a related field.
Essential: Strong interpersonal skills – Ability to liaise with all levels of hospital staff and external bodies and possess the ability to refer, advise, and assist with routine issues, problems and requests
Essential: Extensive experience in a clinical administrative environment in the private or public sector, preferably in the health services industry
Essential: Proficient in use of Microsoft suite of office products

Essential: Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
