Position Summary
|
- Temporary Part Time – 40 hours per fortnight

- Centrally located at University Hospital Geelong – close to CBD & waterfront
About the facility
The Gretta Volum Centre is a freestanding day surgery unit within University Hospital, Geelong.
It has two operating theatres and one endoscopy procedure room. Services are provided for patients undergoing a broad range of surgical, diagnostic procedures, intravenous therapy, abdominal paracentesis, and CVC line insertions.
About the role As the Associate Nurse Unit Manager in the Gretta Volum Centre you will provide operational, clinical and professional leadership to staff, ensuring practice is aligned with Barwon Health’s values. You will ensure the effective provision of patient care in the assistance of nursing staff in the areas of patient welfare, comfort, hygiene and transport in order to achieve and maintain quality patient outcomes.
Duties of your role includes, but is not limited to:
- Managing day to day functioning of the shift to ensure operational requirements of the ward are met.
- Effective daily allocation of staff resources to required areas on ward to ensure skills mix.
- Model a superior approach to education, interpersonal relationships, teamwork and communication model for Clinical Nurse Specialists and RN’s.
