About the role
As the Occupational Health and Safety Officer you will assist in leading the implementation of Barwon Health’s Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems through the provision of support and assistance to managers, Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) and employees.
You will also be responsible for training and mentoring managers, HSRs and employees on Barwon Health’s safety and emergency programs and assist in the development and implementation of OH&S strategies to ensure a safe workplace and the prevention of workplace injuries.
As the successful applicant you will need to have a sound working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004, Regulations, Codes of Practice and relevant Australian Standards. You will possess high levels of initiative and have demonstrated leadership experience promoting and maintaining a positive safety culture.
