About the facility
The Rapid Assessment and Planning Unit (RAPU) is a 16–18 bed short-stay Medical Unit for patients from the Emergency Department that need a short admission and will benefit from intensive, routine allied health input. A multidisciplinary team approach is used to develop a plan of care for a safe and effective discharge from hospital within 48 hours to 76 hours.
About the role
As the ANUM you will ensure the effective provision of patient care in the assistance of nursing staff in the areas of patient welfare, comfort, hygiene and transport in order to achieve and maintain quality patient outcomes.
Duties of your role include, but are not limited to:
•Effective daily allocation of staff resources to required area’s on ward to ensure skills mix
•Facilitate service coordination where possible to ensure broader health and well-being issues are supported.
•Promote a standard of consumer centred care which meets professional, organisational, legal and ethical requirements to ensure the personal and professional treatment of patients
