About the facility

The Swanston Centre is a 32 bed acute inpatient unit providing best practice, recovery orientated treatment and care for people in the Barwon region from age 16 years and above, experiencing the effects of major psychiatric disorders. The unit operates on a primary nursing model within specific teams that are directly linked to the community mental health teams situated throughout the region, supported by a consultant psychiatrist, psychiatric registrar, medical officer and allied health team.

About the role

Are you a Psychiatric Enrolled Nurse looking to work at the leading regional Health Care Service in Victoria? In this position you will provide high quality, best practice direct delivery of psychiatric treatment and care to consumers within the Swanston Centre; as part of the multidisciplinary team operating from a Recovery Orientated perspective. In your role as a psychiatric enrolled nurse, you will be a recognised member of the Acute Inpatient team working as a Primary Nurse, with a similar role in regard to consumer care as the Registered Psychiatric Nurse 2; incorporating consultation with the Registered Psychiatric Nurse 3 and supervision where necessary.
