About the facility 

MHDAS provides integrated and recovery oriented mental health, drugs and alcohol assessment, treatment and community support to people of all ages within the Barwon region experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, mental health and drug & alcohol issues, and their families.

Our service is internationally recognised for its innovative clinical programs and integrated models of practice that are client centred, accessible and family inclusive. We are fortunate to enjoy terrific internal relationships and have developed excellent partnerships with the local community that provide for seamless integrated care for our clients.

About the role 

Provide a single point of access to individuals and their families wanting to access Mental Health, Drugs & Alcohol Services (MHDAS) in a timely and coordinated manner and in the most appropriate service location. Service providers will understand and appreciate culturally differences as expressed in lifestyles, values and experiences that exist in the community, and take these differences into account in the clinical response through collaborative decision making with the individual and their family

Essential: Formal professionally recognised qualifications in Psychiatric Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Social Work or Clinical Psychology, including full registration with AHPRA for relevant disciplines
Essential: Significant experience in acute psychiatry including crisis assessment and clinical interventions
Desirable: Participation in Engaging Leadership, Recovery, Family Inclusive Practice workshops
Essential: Demonstrated advance level of clinical skills in the assessment and treatment of people with mental health and substance use disorders in a community setting
