About the facility
Maternity Services at University Hospital Geelong provides pregnancy, intrapartum and postnatal care for both high and low risk pregnancies. The number of births per annum is around 2500. Antenatal care is provided in both hospital and community sites. We have a Maternity Assessment Unit adjacent to the Birth Unit. The Birth Unit has 8 birth rooms. The Postnatal Area has 24 beds, an Extended Postnatal Care service and a Lactation service.
About the role
Maternity Services is seeking a midwife to cover a temporary part time opportunity of the ANUM within the Pregnancy Care Clinics; the commitment to this role would be 32 hours a fortnight.
As the successful candidate you will be required to have:
- 3 years Midwifery experience, working across most of Maternity Services
- Sound working knowledge of the Birthing Outcome System
- Excellent time management skills
- Experience Performing staff education – Drs and midwives
- Effective communication skills
- Be confident and comfortable leading a multi-disciplinary team
- Sound knowledge of the intricacies of antenatal care.
Previous experience in managing a busy Pregnancy Care Clinic is desirable
