About the facility 

Barwon Health’s McKellar Centre is a recently upgraded facility located only minutes from the centre of Geelong. It is situated on a vibrant community asset with parkland surrounds and incorporates state of the art equipment. The centre offers a range of rehabilitation services that enable people to make a dynamic recovery. It is a 100 bed inpatient facility offering rehabilitation in Palliative care, Geriatric evaluation and management, Stroke, Trauma, orthopaedic and amputee service. At the Inpatient Rehabilitation Centre, we offer focused professional development with dedicated nursing educators on site, set within new state-of-the-art facilities.

About the role 

North Wing is looking to recruit a part time Registered Nurse interested in working in the Community Health & Rehab Wards at McKellar Centre in North Geelong. This role will deliver patient centred care to neuro/stroke and palliative patients delivering care to these patients holistically. You will be working within a supportive team environment who are dedicated professionals that take pride in providing a high quality service. This is a night shift role with opportunities to further increase hours. It’s a great opportunity to become involved in this area of delivery.

Selection Criteria Essential: Selection Criteria Registered Nurse/Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) together with demonstrated ability to meet the ANMC competencies for the Registered Nurse/Midwife
Essential: Ability to work shifts to cover 24 hours / 7 days a week including an oncall roster
Desirable: Peri-operative certificate in Scrub / Scout, Anaesthetic and Recovery
Desirable: Motivated, enthusiastic, and have the ability to integrate into a busy, dynamic theatre team
Desirable: Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to integrate into an established theatre team
