Barwon Health is a major teaching facility with links to Deakin University, The Gordon, and other tertiary education facilities around Australia. Barwon Health’s university Hospital Geelong is one of the busiest in Victoria. We provide care at all stages of life and circumstances through comprehensive range of services from emergency and acute medicine to mental health, primary care and rehabilitation.

Barwon Medical Imaging (BMI) provides a comprehensive range of diagnostic services including X-Ray, OPG, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Fluoroscopy, Angiography, Mammography, and Nuclear Medicine. These are performed by a team of highly skilled radiologists, radiographers, sonographers, nuclear medicine technologists, nurses and support staff who ensure that all patients have access to quality services.

About the role

The Grade 1 Radiographer /MIT will assist in the provision of a service in diagnostic medical imaging 24/7.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Independently operating all diagnostic imaging equipment including information systems (RIS/PACS/CR/DR, BOSS and Symphony) Accept complete responsibility for the production of medical imaging. Such responsibility begins with the acceptance of a proper request for examination and is fulfilled when the complete examination is presented to the radiologist for reporting
  • Participation in 24/7 ‘ABC roster’ which includes being available for reasonable overtime and out of hours recall and shift duty.
  • Assisting with on-going practical supervision and tuition of students and interns in liaison with the Tutor Radiographer
