Position Summary
  • Be recognised as an Aged Psychiatry Clinician you will be recognised as an integral part of a dynamic team providing services to persons aged 65 plus.
  • You will be challenged in that the provision of services takes in all elements of an aged person including mental, physical and spiritual health
  • Ongoing training and professional development in a supported work environment

About the facility 

Aged Psychiatry Services are housed in De Forest House in the grounds of the McKellar Centre North Geelong, there is adequate parking for a user pays of $4.00 per day. There is also parking off street in the surrounding areas. You will share an office with another staff member and you will have access to a pool car via a booking procedure.

About the role  

The clinician will be required to provide client’s meeting the target group; [65 +] comprehensive assessments, crisis intervention, outreach case management, formulate and review Treatment and Recovery Plans in collaboration with the client and other parties concerned with the client’s care and refer to other service providers when appropriate

The clinician will be required to undertake a clinical caseload which is decided upon in consultation with the Consultant Psychiatrists and/or the Clinical Co-Ordinator and/or the Senior Clinician.

As the Aged psychiatry Service is a seven day service clinicians are required to work a roster which will include some weekends and public holidays.
