About the facility

The Barwon Health ICU is a 24-bed ICU, providing tertiary critical care services to the Barwon South Western region. The ICU cares for medical, surgical, and cardiothoracic adults, as well as collaborative programs to care for adult ECMO and critically ill children. The ICU unit supplies a central vascular access and critical care echocardiography service to Barwon Health. The ICU is actively involved in clinical research, critical care education for Deakin School of Medicine, and education and training of junior doctors and nurses.

About the role

As the Receptionist in ICU you will be the first point of contact for all consumers visiting Intensive Care. This position is weekdays covering 4.30 pm - 8.30 pm.

You will be required to provide efficient and courteous reception, clerical, and administrative services for consumers attending our services at the University Hospital Geelong.

To be successful you will have:

  • Proficient skills in Microsoft office products
  • Ability to assist in the planning and development and implementation of systems to ensure the effective and efficient running of the unit and its activities
  • Ability to liaise with all levels of hospital management, staff and external authorities and possess the ability to refer, advise, and assist with routine issues, problems and requests
