About the facility

Barwon Mental Health, Drugs and Alcohol Services (MHDAS) provides integrated and recovery orientated mental health and drugs and alcohol assessment, treatment and community and family support to people of all ages within the Barwon Region currently experiencing, or at risk of experiencing mental health and/or drug and alcohol issues. Our service is internationally recognised for its innovative clinical programs and integrated models of practice that are consumer centred, accessible and family inclusive 

About the role 

Barwon Health’s Drugs & Alcohol Services (DAS) is looking to recruit a Drug and Alcohol Clinician.

In this role you will be required to complete comprehensive AOD assessments, develop client centred treatment and or harm reduction plans and develop discharge plans. Working closely with families and carers will at times also be an important requirement of the role. You will be working within a multidisciplinary team to enhance treatment and outcomes for clients. You will be required to work closely with tertiary students contributing to the skill and knowledge of the developing workforce. This role will also provide the opportunity to further develop professional practice and provides great support to staff through supervision. The role can be fast paced, challenging, dynamic and highly rewarding.

Essential: Formal recognised qualifications in Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Social Work or Psychology, including full registration with AHPRA for relevant disciplines
Essential: Current Drivers Licence recognised in Victoria
Desirable: Please describe your experience and clinical skills in the assessment and treatment of people with substance use and/or complex psychosocial situations in a community setting, including individual, group and family work. Core competencies include: Assessment, case formulation and treatment planning
Desirable: Please describe your working knowledge of Recovery Principles, Integrated Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Treatment Principles, Harm Reduction Principles, Family Inclusive Practice Principles; and outline your demonstrated capacity to implement these.
Desirable: Please describe your experience in Medication monitoring and education (within scope of practice)
