About the facility
The Belmont Community Health Centre’s services include counselling, diabetic educators, physiotherapy, nursing, occupational therapy, speech pathology dental services and many more. The Progressive Neurology Clinic is based at the Belmont Community Rehabilitation Centre in Reynolds Road.
About the role
As the Occupational Therapist of the Progressive Neurology Clinic is responsible for the Occupational Therapy component of a specialist multidisciplinary team that will provide integrated assessment, planning and ongoing support to clients in the Barwon region with a Progressive Neurological Disease. The service at Barwon Health forms part of the state-wide model of care for people with Progressive Neurological Diseases (PND) being led by Calvary Healthcare Bethlehem (CHCB).This role includes implementing the service model and strategic direction, ensuring a best practice approach, and providing high quality, evidence based person centred care in the treatment and management of progressive neurological disorders (PND).

Selection Criteria
|
Essential: • Bachelor of Applied Science ( Occupational Therapy) or equivalent Essential: • Current Victorian Driver’s Licence Essential: • Highly developed conceptual and analytical skills and the expertise to resolve complex problems. Essential: • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people, including a diverse client base, community service agencies, community groups and individuals who have limited resources Essential: • Skill in the evaluation and implementation of evidence based Occupational Therapy practice and modification of service delivery Essential: • Experience in policy and service implementation Essential: • Experience in completing quality activities Essential: • Extensive experience working with people living with a Progressive Neurological disease, particularly MND. Essential: • Current registration with AHPRA Desirable: • Post graduate qualifications or interest in pursuing further qualifications in Occupational Therapy, rehabilitation, health management or a related field. Desirable: • Experience in working in a co-ordinated, multidisciplinary team structure
