Part of a Team

Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol Services (MHDAS) provides integrated and recovery orientated mental health, drugs and alcohol assessment, treatment and community support to people of all ages within the Barwon region experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, mental health and / or drug and alcohol issues, and their families.

The Mental Health (MH) Hospital in the Home (HITH) service is a 24hour a day, 7 day a week team working across three shifts. The team is a tertiary-level multidisciplinary mental health drug and alcohol team. Its aim is to provide timely and effective, intensive treatment and support for individuals aged 16 years and older with high acuity mental health and / or AOD needs, in their home environment.

About the Role

These are exciting new permanent full time and part time roles within Mental Health Drugs and Alcohol Service.  The Mental Health Hospital in the Home service provides 9 adult and youth acute mental health bed-equivalent packages of care. This service is for consumers who are experiencing acute mental health crisis and would otherwise require admission to a mental health inpatient facility. MH HITH is a 24-hour service promoting a multidisciplinary approach whilst focusing on psychosocial needs of consumers and their carers.

We are seeking dynamic, highly motivated senior clinicians to be part of the Mental Health Hospital in the Home Service. You will provide acute community mental health treatment for people in the acute phase of their mental illness and demonstrate leadership in both the day-day leading of shifts, and the ongoing development of the service.

To be successful in this role, you will possess the following skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A strong understanding of your own personal and professional values
  • Demonstrated acute mental health clinical experience in acute community and / or inpatient settings
