About the facility
Barwon Health is the major regional health provider for the Barwon South West region. It is one of Victoria’s largest regional health services with one of the busiest hospitals in the state, University Hospital. We serve over 500,000 people through the efforts of over 8,000 staff and more than 1200 volunteers. We provide care at all stages or life and circumstance through a wide range of services from emergency and acute to mental health, primary care, community services, aged care, and subacute/rehabilitation. Care is provided to the community through over 28 key locations throughout the region.
About the role
Our Social Workers work across a diverse range of the health areas including acute, sub-acute and community-based program areas in a number of campuses of Barwon Health and are required to have established clinical knowledge and skills relevant to working as an advanced clinician in a health setting. As the Social Worker (Grade 2) you will deliver an excellent social work service to the Women's and Children's Team. The social work clinician will have an awareness and understanding of the health service environment and be skilled at working in a multidisciplinary team.
This specific role is part of the Paediatric Outpatients team, working with complex patient presentations and will require an advanced knowledge of family violence, children at risk, and complex psychosocial presentations.
