About the facility
Operating Services is a 24 hour theatre suite within University Hospital, Geelong and comprises of 10 operating theatres and a Day of Surgery Hub. Services are provided for patients undergoing a broad range of surgical, diagnostic and emergency procedures.
Specialties include Cardiothoracic, Vascular, Orthopaedic, Oral Faciomaxillary, Paediatric Surgery, Ophthalmology, General Surgery, Gastroenteroly, Obstetric & Gynaecology, Plastic Surgery, Urology, ENT. Our surgical hub ward procedures performed range from infusions – Intragam, Infliximab, Magnesium, Lignocaine, Iron, Abatecept, Tysabri, Blood transfusions to Allergy testing and include midline insertion.
About the role
Reporting to the Operating Services Manager the role of Nurse Unit Manager, Anaesthetic & Recovery you will take on a leadership role in operational and strategic issues. You will possess sound communication skills, good time management skills and be well organised in your work practice. You will be skilled at setting clear expectations and be accountable for outcomes and have demonstrated experience in innovation and change management.
You must be a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency. A health related post graduate qualifications will be highly regarded. You must have a significant level of nursing skill and proven commitment to flexibility and innovation in practice. You will have a demonstrated ongoing commitment to professional development.
