Position Summary
  • Gretta Volum Centre is seeking an experienced and dedicated Perioperative Nurse to work within our dynamic day surgery unit
  • Gain invaluable experience in a range of day surgery specialities such as Ophthalmology, ENT, Endoscopy, Maxillofacial, Vascular and many others

About the facility 

Gretta Volum Centre (GVC) comprises of 2 theatres and an endoscopy room. We perform approximately 7000 procedures per year. GVC focusses on a variety of specialities including , Endoscopy, ENT, Ophthalmology and Peadiatrics. We also support other services such as the cronic pain clinic, respiratory, cardiology and heamatology with their day procedures. 

Our mission is to ensure the right equipment and resource is available to the right patient at the right time in the right place. We are dedicated to improving access and patient flow to provide a sustainable service that ensures high quality and safe care.

In this role you will be responsible for the provision of patient focused holistic nursing care to those assigned to you, in order to achieve desired clinical outcomes. Your role will be within this dynamic and challenging unit where teamwork is paramount and primary nursing is encouraged. You will have highly developed interpersonal skills as well as sound communication skills both verbal and written.

To be successful in this role, it is necessary that you can balance priorities to ensure timeframes are met. You will be able to proactively and correctly assess possible problems and take actions to solve them accordingly, whilst building and maintaining the best possible relationships with patients and their families or carers.
