About the facility 

RAPU/BW7 is a 16 bed short stay medical ward , which has a 48 hr length of stay and focusses on ensuring a smooth transition for all patients from ED to RAPU without untimely delays. On admission to the unit the multidisciplinary team will review the patient and develop a patient centred care plan to be used throughout the admission. The focus of the unit is to streamline patients with an expected short episode of care, develop and implement an individualised care plan and discharge patients with appropriate community services within a timely manner. 

About the role 

This PSA role is temporary Maternity leave position for 12 months. The successful applicant will need to hold certificate 111 in Health Services and have some experience within the acute care setting. Competencies in Manual Handling is compulsory. This environment is fast paced and requires staff to assist nurses with transfers of patients from ED as well as working within the unit. Shifts cover AM & PM times.
