About the facility

The Acute Intervention Service's Community Outreach team is a 7 day a week service with two shifts (AM/PM). The team is a tertiary level multidisciplinary mental health drug and alcohol team. Its aim is to provide timely and effective assessment, treatment and assertive support for individuals aged 16 years and older with high acuity mental health and / or alcohol and other drug (AOD) needs up to a maximum of a 28-day period.

About the role

As the successful applicant you will provide systems based assessment and treatment for consumers and their families/carers in the acute phase of their mental illness and / AOD use and demonstrate leadership in both the ongoing development of the acute intervention service and day-day operations of the team. You will also provide support to grade 1 Social workers within the team.

Our team allows you to demonstrate and grow as a senior clinician with primarily clinical interventions as well as leadership and operational opportunities.

You will work alongside other Senior Clinicians from all disciplines, including AOD specialists, Peer workers with a lived experience and psychiatrists.

It is an expectation that the suitable candidate can be available to work all days of the week with a mix of AM (0830hrs) and PM (1330hrs). Our team supports self-rostering to allow shift work flexibility.
