Position Summary

About the facility 

Operating Services comprises of 10 operating theatres in the main complex and 2 theatres and an endoscopy room in the day procedure centre. We perform approximately 22,000 procedures per year across both areas. The day procedure centre focusses on a variety of specialities including Gastroenterology, General Surgery, ENT and Ophthalmology.

Our mission is to ensure the right equipment and resource is available to the right patient at the right time in the right place. We are dedicated to improving access and patient flow to provide a sustainable service that ensures high quality and safe care.

In this role you will be responsible for the provision of patient focused holistic nursing care to those assigned to you, in order to achieve desired clinical outcomes. You will have highly developed interpersonal skills as well as sound communication skills both verbal and written.

To be successful in this role, it is necessary that you can balance priorities to ensure timeframes are met. You will be able to proactively and correctly assess possible problems and take actions to solve them accordingly, whilst building and maintaining the best possible relationships with patients and their families or carers.

Desirable: Post Graduate Diploma in Peri operative Nursing
Desirable: Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work within a health care team in an Acute health setting
Desirable: Motivated, enthusiastic, and have the ability to integrate into a busy, dynamic theatre team
Desirable: Recent anaesthetic, recovery or critical care nursing experience
Essential: Ability to work differing shifts
