Position Summary
  • Exciting positions within the newly formed Community Acute Intervention Service outreach team
  • Provide your expert skills to consumers with acute mental health and/or alcohol and other drug needs
  • Rostering across two shifts (0830-1700hrs and 1330-2200hrs) seven days a week.

About the facility 

Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol Services (MHDAS) provide integrated and recovery orientated mental health, drugs and alcohol assessment, treatment and community support to people of all ages within the Barwon region experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, mental health and / or drug and alcohol issues, and their families.

Community Acute Intervention Service provides timely and effective assessment, treatment and assertive support for individuals aged 16 years and older with high acuity mental health and / or AOD needs over a 0-28 day period.

About the role 

We are seeking dynamic, highly motivated senior clinicians to be part of the Community Acute Intervention Service outreach team. You will provide community assessment and treatment for people in the acute phase of their mental illness and / or alcohol and other drug (AOD) use and demonstrate leadership in both the ongoing development of the acute intervention service and day-day operations of the team.

Essential: Formal professionally recognised qualifications in Mental Health Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Social Work or Clinical Psychology, including full registration with AHPRA for relevant disciplines.
Essential: Current Drivers Licence.
Essential: Demonstrated advanced level of clinical skills in the assessment and treatment of people with acute mental health and substance use disorders in a community setting.
Desirable: Postgraduate qualifications in clinical practice and / or leadership.
