About the role
The Equipment Nurse will work in conjunction with all other members of the health care team in providing a high standard of care, and is responsible to the Nurse Unit Manager. There will be a close working relationship with the Bio-medical department, supply department, procurement department and members of the Emergency Department Equipment Practice Innovation Council.
The successful candidate would be self-motivated to make changes that will improve equipment and supply needs of the ED to provide patient care. They would have knowledge of existing equipment and department needs, and both listen to and work collaboratively with other staff to achieve results. Organisational skills are important in this role, as is an awareness of financial implications when it comes to choosing most appropriate products and equipment. Selection Criteria
|
Essential: Critical care or Emergency Post-Graduate Degree? Essential: Do you have the computer skills to log and manage/maintain equipment resources and consumable products? Essential: Can you liaise with external and UHG departments in making recommendations on product changes, to meet patient care as well as financial targets? Essential: Can you work towards quality improvement and other goals as part of a team with the NUM and ED Educators while balancing expectations of other invested groups? Essential: Are you both professional in your work and passionate about improving staff moral through more efficient equipment and stock processes? Essential: Commitment to professional improvement and willingness to adapt to change though internal training and self-directed learning opportunities? Desirable: Recent ED experience Essential: Do you have the ability to manage and organise your own and delegates workload accurately, independently, and on time Desirable: Are you an excellent communicator; able to formulate budget submissions and databases, advise other staff on equipment, prepare reports, and formalize ordering?
