About the facility
Barwon Health is the major regional health provider for the Barwon South West region. It is Victoria’s largest regional health service with one of the busiest hospitals in the state, University Hospital. We serve over 500,000 people through the efforts of over 6,500 staff and more than 100 volunteers.

About the role
Do you have a strong interest in Finance? Do you want to further develop your skills at the largest employer in Geelong? Barwon Health now has an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Accountant to join their Finance Team in a full time role.
As a key team member of the Finance Team, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate, timely recording, reporting and analysis of financial information to support Barwon Health in meetings its objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the development and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for both internal and external purposes.
- Assisting in the development of the annual operating budget and monthly forecasting.
- Liaise with key stakeholders throughout the organisation to enable valuable variance commentary and provide finance support.
- Undertake month end activities including the preparation and/or review of journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Adhering to, maintaining, and updating financial accounting policies.
As the successful applicant you will hold a Commerce degree and demonstrate previous commercial, public accounting or audit experience. Strong interpersonal skills and a “can do” attitude are all requirements of this role. CPA or CA membership is preferred.
