About Customer Service Department

The customer Services Department delivers a broad range of administrative support across Barwon Health including Patient Liaison, Reception, Admissions, Cashiers and Patient Accounts

A further focus of Customer Services is optimising revenue generated from various categories of private patients (Private, DVA, TAC, WorkCover, Overseas patients) by performing strategic partnerships with clinical units and medical providers.

We are available to provide support and advice to any department seeking to improve their billing or admission processes, increase revenue streams, improve collection or implement new billing initiatives.

About the role

Customer Services - Patient Liaison Administrator

To provide outstanding levels of customer service to patients, clients and visitors to University Hospital Geelong. This role provides much of the day to day patient liaison functions to ensure Private patients, Veterans and Medicare Ineligible and Compensable patients receive and are satisfied with the services available to them. The role will also focuses on optimising business outcomes, service levels, staff and patient satisfaction.

Customer Service Officer – Medical Billing

In the role as a Customer Service Officer – Medical Billing, you will be responsible for providing outstanding levels of customer service to patients and consumers; whilst providing clerical support to the patient billing & collection functions of the Patient Accounts office.

You will be working on a range of medical billing functions and will be required to develop an understanding of medical procedures and Medicare rules.
