About the facility
Barwon Health’s McKellar Centre offers a range of rehabilitation services that enable people to make a dynamic recovery. It is situated on a vibrant community asset with parkland surrounds and incorporates state-of-the-art equipment. Adzen is a high level secure unit at McKellar Centre that provides residential care for older people suffering from Dementia and is conveniently located in North Geelong. As well as anaesthesia services, the department also manages the acute and chronic pain services, and the peri-operative unit, including cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPX) for pre-operative assessment of patients.
About the role
Duties of the Registered Nurse at the McKellar Centres, Adzen unit will include but are not limited to:
- Delivery of consumer centred care that meets best practice standards
- Facilitate service coordination where possible to ensure broader health and well-being issues are supported
- Establish and maintain effective communication within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure patients receive quality ongoing care.
- Share skills and knowledge to contribute to professional development of colleagues and students
