About the facility
The Geelong Cardiology Research Unit based at University Hospital Geelong is widely recognised for its high quality conduct of large scale international clinical trials in cardiovascular disease. Clinical trials in Type 2 Diabetes, Hypercholesterolaemia, ACS, AF and Heart failure are currently underway, along with number of in-house investigator initiated trials.
About the role
We are currently seeking a Part Time Clinical Trials Medical Officer for a fixed term period of 12 months. Working under the supervision of A/Prof John Amerena, the successful applicant will primarily be responsible for providing medical oversight for patients involved in the conduct of cardiology clinical trials. This includes being responsible for patient recruitment and informed consent, providing research related clinical care as well as providing ongoing education to patients, families and relevant staff. If you are a team player and highly motivated to succeed, this is a rare opportunity to further develop your existing clinical skills whilst gaining practical clinical research experience with the support of a dynamic and experienced cardiology research team.
