About the facility 

Barwon Health is the largest regional health service in Victoria, providing care for approximately 68,000 emergency presentations per year. Under Barwon Health’s emergency model of care, patients are streamed to dedicated assessment areas including fast track, adult, paediatric, resuscitation, trauma and mental health areas. The emergency department will be expanding the adult short stay unit and creating a new paediatric short stay unit to ensure consumers receive the right care, in the right time and in the right place. Our mission is to improve access and patient flow to provide a sustainable service that ensures high quality, safe, consumer-focused care. Our Emergency Department provides comprehensive care to the Barwon Community and has a well-established and successful regional service, dedicated to ensuring a high quality service in accordance with the Barwon Health Strategic Direction and Business Plan.

About the role 

Part time PSA positions available in the Emergency Department at University Hospital Geelong.

You will have recent experience as a PSA or in related work areas, a willingness and ability to develop skills and adapt to changing needs and hold a recognised PSA certificate (or equivalent) from a TAFE college, or equivalent registered training organisation.

The role includes provision of transport and couriering services of patients; assistance to the Registered Nurse in relevant required patient and unit support activities to ensure quality patient centred care is delivered and also provides effective and timely cleaning and housekeeping services to delegated area.

Selection Criteria Desirable: Holds a recognised PSA certificate (or equivalent) from a TAFE college, or equivalent registered training organisation
Desirable: Ability to undertake and complete internal training modules, such as smart moves
Desirable: Experience in working with BH computer programs
Desirable: Recent experience as a PSA or in related work areas
