About the facility

Barwon health is the major regional health provider for the Barwon South West region. It is Victoria’s largest regional health service with one of the busiest hospitals in the state, University Hospital. We serve over 500,000 people through the efforts of over 8,000 staff and more than 1,000 volunteers. We provide care at all stages or life and circumstance through a wide range of services from emergency and acute to mental health, primary care, community services, aged care, and subacute/rehabilitation. Care is provided to the community through over 28 key locations throughout the region.

About the role

We are excited to offer a leadership opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced registered nurse to lead the development of a new 16 bed combined general medical and gastroenterology ward.  The role of the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) is to co-ordinate and manage the day to day operations of the ward encompassing strategic planning of financial, capital, human and physical resources.  The NUM will act as a role model, providing leadership and practice within the core values of Barwon Health.  Overall the NUM will form an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team and will be required to ensure highly responsive and flexible service to internal and external health care providers.  The position is full time and ongoing.
