About People and Culture

The role sits in Barwon health’s Organisational Development team consisting of 6 and is part of the wider People and Culture team. The People and Culture division is a large team that supports and delivers a range of services to the organisation including Human Resources, Employee Relations, Recruitment, Talent Acquisition, On-boarding, Staff Care, Payroll and OH&S. We are all dedicated to supporting the staff and organisation in achieving the goal of being Australia’s Leading Regional Health Service – Building a Healthier Community.

About the role

The primary objective of this senior leadership role is to design, promote and drive an exceptional employment experience and lead structured highly regarded development programs and activities for current and future leaders.  This senior role within the P&C team will work with managers across Barwon Health to plan for and build leaders and teams that are engaged, equipped and committed to deliver on our organisational vision, purpose and strategic priorities. 

Key components of the role include: 

  • design, support and monitor targeted internal development programs for senior and middle managers; 
  • co-ordinate and monitor external leadership programs for senior leaders
  • developing and overseeing the effective implementation of action plans related to diversity and inclusion;
  • overseeing career progression strategies for key workforce role
  • driving positive employee engagement and culture across Barwon Health including recognition systems and listening / feedback strategies.

Essential: A tertiary qualification in a related discipline

Essential: Proven success adapting to environments with matrix approval processes
Essential: Demonstrated experience in leading and implementing projects across a large organisation
Essential: Able to take complex concepts or projects and convert into practical, easy to understand and implement tactics
Essential: Commercial approach; can achieve success within the set financial parameters
