About the Facility
Barwon Health is the largest regional health service in Victoria. It has been awarded ‘Regional Health Service’ of the year twice in the last three years. There are 2 Cardiac Cath labs, one within the CCU ward and an ambulant Lab adjacent to the Cardiology department. We perform approximately 23,000 procedures per year across both labs including acute STEMI interventions, Diagnostic Angiography, Pacemaker insertions, complex EP and structural heart procedures.
Our mission is to ensure the right cardiology care and treatment is available to the right patient at the right time in the right place. We are dedicated to improving access and patient flow to provide a sustainable service that ensures high quality and safe care.
About the role
Rapid Access Atrial Fibrillation Clinic is a Full time 2 year project that represents an exciting opportunity for a registered nurse with an interest and experience in cardiac rhythm management to provide timely access or AF care for regional patients who have been recently been admitted with AF.
Patients who present to the health service emergency department with AF will be seen within 14 days of discharge in a weekly rapid access clinic at Barwon health, run by Project lead Cardiologist and nurse.
