About Barwon Health

Barwon Health is the largest regional health service in Victoria. It provides comprehensive tertiary health services to our population and has strong affiliations with Deakin University. The newly formed Public Health Unit servicing the Barwon South West region is initially focussing on COVID-19 preparedness, response and facilitation, with a particular focus initially on the COVID 19 Vaccination program, testing and contact tracing.

Barwon Health is one of ten streaming hospitals for COVID in Victoria and as such will have a significant number of ICU and wards beds with COVID positive or COVID suspected patients. Additional recruitment is occurring in a number of staffing roles to prepare for the anticipated COVID surge in 2021 and 2022.

About the role

We are seeking applications for a number of Allied Health Assistant positions to work in:

  • multidisciplinary roles -physiotherapy, occupational therapy, social work, speech pathology, dietetics, audiology
  • at bed based acute and subacute programs
  • on both COVID wards and non COVID wards
  • across a 7 day a week roster.

Desirable: Clinical experience as an AHA in relevant clinical caseload
Desirable: Working directly with an Allied Health Professional; work alone or in teams under supervision following a prescribed program of activity.
